Unlike the faint feelings associated with lightheadedness, vertigo symptoms generally present as an abnormal spinning sensation or a loss of balance. Episodes of vertigo can last anywhere from minutes to hours, and often include symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abnormal eye movements, and sweating.
Treatments for Vertigo
The nature of the treatment often depends on the cause of the vertigo. Vertigo caused by BPPV or labyrinthitis can be effectively treated with physical therapy.
